About Nicks
Movement and sports have always been a big part of my life. Growing up I was the person who partook in absolutely anything active and my school career consisted of early morning waterpolo or hockey training then after school it would be back to back team and individual activities into the evenings.
I love the teaching and coaching environment, having taught Hip Hop dancing under the South African Dance Teacher’s Association as well as adult mobility classes for years before moving to the online space in 2020.
While I was a dancer as a child, I wasn’t particularly flexible.
My real journey with flexibility began at the age of 37 when I started searching for answers in an attempt to rehab myself through an incredibly difficult time with serious hip issues and a whole lot of pain.
This process of learning and development resulted in such dramatic changes in my body that all I wanted to do was learn more and help others who may have found themselves in a similar position.
It blew my mind just how much we can accomplish through the right approach and consistency.
I trained and worked under Lucas Aaron during which time I also completed the Range of Strength certification.
The community also exposed me to the skill of handstands and calisthenics training and to say my life changed from then onwards would be an understatement.
The experience equipped me to better understand how to help adults improve their strength and flexibility I feel so fortunate to be in the position I am now where my work is resulting in daily messages from people describing things they’ve achieved and how they’re starting to grasp these simple, yet often misunderstood aspects of flexibility training.
